Review Of This Weeks Work This week I have researched different makeup and hairstyle trends so that people watching my video will know that it reflects the current views and uses of makeup and Photoshop. Makeup trends are the easiest for me to replicate as I can't cut or dye my models hair only style it. This is why I have chosen to mainly focus on the long and wavy and lob hair styles as this matches her normal hair more than the others.

After I had done the research I found some pictures of the looks that I liked the most and recreated them so I could find the best way to do them and how they looked when I did them. I'm not the best at makeup so I had to abandon some looks that I liked and focus on the ones that I could do with the makeup I had. The research and experiments I have done are really useful for me as I managed to narrow down the makeup look I want to use in the FMP.

I chose not to use my proposed research sources which I mentioned in my Proposal because as I was doing my research I wanted to go into a slightly different direction than I had planned. I wanted to research more about how we perceive beauty in the media and how the human body is being used in a sexual way to sell products and ideals.

I also picked the song I wanted to use for my FMP, it was really difficult finding and choosing the song because I had imagined what I wanted the video to look like so I had to chose a song which matched the style I wanted to make. I found a small selection of songs that I might use and then narrowed it down.

Human - Christina Perri

This is the song I have chosen to be the main piece of music in this project. It fitted the style of video I want to create so the two will blend together nicely, also the meaning and lyrics of the song relate to my project idea.

Sum of our parts - Mary Lambert

This was the 'runner up' to Human by Christina Perri. I chose against this song purely because I thought the other songs music fitted better however I thought that the meaning behind this song fitted really well with my overall theme.

Mrs potato head - Melanie Martinez

This is the song in which I first came up with the idea however I chose not to use this song as it was more about the dangers in plastic surgery when used for cosmetic reasons.

Weight of living part 1 (Albatross) - Bastille

I thought this song could work with my idea as the meaning behind the song, in my opinion, is someone having to live with the regret of doing something. I thought I could link this with the people who create damaging media. However I didn't choose it because it didn't relate to my idea as much as the others.

I know girls (body love) - Mary Lambert

Although this song has the exact meaning that I wanted the actual rhythm and beat of the song didn't match what I had in mind for the music video. This would result in a disjointed video as the two wouldn't match. However I really like the intro to the song as it sounds like something in reverse, so I may find a way to incorporate it into the video.
