Going Local Evaluation

To evaluate everyone's work we split into groups of two groups and showed one edit from each groups, I volunteered to show my video and then each person in the other group filled out a sheet of their thoughts on my piece.

Overall they liked the story line/plot of the film and the use of Mise - en - scene that we all used. When filming we all had a different director that we were influenced by so I like the way each section looks slightly different, I think this helps the viewer to distinguish between the different parts of the story. For instance I was mostly using symmetrical shots to replicate Wes Anderson's style.

However some of my feedback towards my colour grading was negative which I disagree with because I think it gives the effect I wanted to show. When I was colour grading my version I wanted to start with desaturated clips and then as the film progressed the colour became more visible and intense to show that things get better and brighter.

If I were to do the video again I would stabilise some of shots and try an include more of the ambient sound as the overall effect of the film is a bit like a music video which I didn't anticipate.
