Unit 12 - Initial Idea

I am more interested in music videos than other types of media so for this unit I would like to focus on one video that I really like.

I think the music video to Style by Taylor Swift, directed by Kyle Newman, is really unique in the way it uses overlapping of shots to create a reminiscent feel to the video.

This music video to Sweet Disaster by White Horse was directed by Ken Cunningham. You can see the similarities between the two videos as they both use the effect of overlapping shots. However, this video is different to Style as it only uses the effect to make the video more visually interesting, whereas Style uses it to create the effect of memories.

After watching these two videos I would like to also incorporate the double exposure effect but, similar to Style, create a representation of a memory in my piece.

My main goal for this unit is to create a music video which shows an event or series of events which are linked together by the use of double exposure.
