Unit 12 - Idea Development

When I was first looking at songs to put my video idea to I thought of Torn by Natalie Imbruglia. I thought of this song because it would be easy to match up the lyrics of the song with some nice visuals of paper being ripped. However I thought the song was a bit too cheesy and the visuals might get a bit repetitive.

I want my video to incorporate the same technique as the Style video but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't just copying the shots from the video. I started to think of other things that would look really nice with the double exposure effect. I thought of using some fake blood to overlay on different parts of the video, this would give the video a rough plot line and make it more visually interesting.

I then listened to Desire by Years & Years, I really liked the start of the song where they've used different hand sounds to make a portion of the song. This gave me the idea of someone in a therapist room and being put under hypnosis with a click. The person would then start remembering witnessing someones death. The rough plot I have so far is that the both of the people knew each other so person 1 (being hypnotised) has memories of being with person 2 (murder victim) and is unsure whether or not they killed person 2. This would allow the double exposure to be used to make the effect of overlapping memories which would slowly reveal the plot of the video.
